After several days of severe weather it looks like things are going to clear up as you head into the weekend.
From Friday on into the weekend Allen Campbell with the National Weather Service said it’s looking like there will be some nice days ahead.
“It is going to continue to be warm, as far as highs for the day are concerned. They will be a little bit cooler than the past few days,” said Campbell.
Temperatures will range from the lower 70’s in the northern part of the state, into the 80’s down on the coast. Moving into the evening, skies are looking clear, with lows in the middle 40’s and 50’s.
On Saturday it isn’t expected to get too hot outside. Still looking at clear skies with highs in the 70’s and potentially high 80’s in the South.
Bad weather could head back this way on Sunday. Meteorologists are looking at another storm system moving from the west in the late Sunday evening hours.
“It does look like it will last last Sunday afternoon into early Monday morning,” said Campbell. There is potential for some severe storms in central and Southeast Mississippi producing hail and tornadoes.
The National Weather Service is still looking into the damage caused by Wednesday and Thursday’s severe weather. So far they have confirmed wind damage in Brookhaven.
“We did have some damage reports down there. Survey teams went out and found that it was due to some strong winds,” said Campbell. “We will be sending another team out to Purvis later this morning to look at some more damage that occurred down that way.”
They’re looking to determine if the damage was caused by straight- line winds or a tornado.
