Homeless of Meridian Back To Streets

MERIDIAN, Miss– A home for the homeless is having to move, putting many on the streets until a new location is found.

A roof over their heads is all these people need in Meridian, but the city says the old empty warehouse they’ve been using isn’t up to code. WTOK says The People’s Charity Clinic in Meridian has been trying to purchase the building but now it’s off-limits for the organization. The city says the old building can’t support The People’s Charity Clinic’s needs, and the owner of the building has forced them out. South Harbor Shelter in Meridian is the only other option, but it can only take one or two families.

Until there’s a solution, it’s back to what little they had for the homeless in Meridian. If you would like to help the People’s Charity Clinic in Meridian, you can call 601-482-8442 or 601-917-2673.
