RANKIN COUNTY, Miss.–Drugs in a hidden compartment of a car-not an unusual story, but what kind and how much this time may make you take a second look. Six lbs. of a nearly pure form of crystal meth known as “ice” was taken from a California man on I-20 Saturday.
Miss. Highway Patrol Spokesman Warren Strain said the street value of the drugs was about $225,000.
In jail is 38-year-old Rafael Mendoza. He was arrested after troopers stopped and searched the vehicle. Strain did not say what prompted officers to pull the car over.
