Wrecks Take Mississippi Lives Over the Weekend

WALNUT, Miss.–A pickup crashed with two other cars and one person is dead after the wreck Saturday. WTVA reports the wreck happened near Corinth and was one of at least two fatal crashes in the state over the weekend.

Dead is 44-year-old Theresa Lahey of Walnut. The three-vehicle crash happened on Hwy. 72 about 3:45 Saturday afternoon when a pickup was rear-ended, sending it into on-coming traffic. Nobody else was hurt seriously.

A wreck on I-20 near Vicksburg about 9 Sunday morning killed 54-year-old Susan Draper.

The Highway Patrol says she ran off the road, hit a guard rail and flipped. Her daughter was in the car with her but made it through the crash. Both women were wearing their seatbelts.

In Tishamingo County 21-year-old Tyler Goddard died over the weekend when his SUV hit a tree on a county road after he didn’t round a curve successfully.

A newspaper delivery person found the wreckage and called authorities.
