It Started With a Note on a Bathroom Wall-Former DJ Gets 30 Years

BILOXI, Miss.–He was known on the air as “Jay Roberts” and “Bob Dever”. Now he’ll be known by his prison number. Robert Dever, 51, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on two counts of child exploitation Thursday, following his guilty plea.

The case started in 2012 when city workers in Biloxi found a note on a bathroom was asking for adults who have children they want to pimp out for sex to contact Dever. The note had a phone number on it that investigators linked to the DJ.

It was after search warrants were served that over 200 photos and videos were found on Dever’s computer. Cops also determined he had been sharing child pornography over a chat service.

The 30-year sentence must be served day for day, according to state sex offense laws. That means Dever will not be eligible for early release and will not see life outside the system again until he’s 81. Then he must register as a sex offender.
