Jackson City Council Wants New Flag

JACKSON, Miss. – The Jackson City Council has approved a resolution supporting a new state flag.

Councilman Kenneth Stokes authored the bill and says that the flag fails to represent the state and its people.

Last night, the city of Grenada voted to ban the state flag, at all city buildings, by a vote of 4-3.

Jackson Mayor Tony Yarber had previously called on state leaders to remove the flag.
