JFD Arson Investigator on leave after shooting

JACKSON, Miss.- An off-duty Jackson Fire Department Arson Investigator is on administrative leave after shooting a burglary suspect on Tuesday morning. 

Reginald Harvey, 33, was shot while attempting to burglarize a storage shed. He is in stable condition, and could face potential charges for his crime.

The identity of the JFD investigator has not been released. Officials have confirmed that the suspect was shot in the leg Tuesdaymorning on Beechwood Drive off of Beasley Road.

The JFD told local media an internal investigation was being conducted and that a report would be submitted to the grand jury by the Jackson Police Department.
