JACKSON- After conducting a special operation concentration on the website “Backpage,” the Jackson Police Department arrested 11 people for prostitution, drugs, and weapons charges.
The Vice/Narcotics division arrested four females and seven males. The charges include solicitation of prostitution, drugs/narcotics charges and weapons charges. A runaway juvenile was also found and charged in the operation as well.
JPD plans to continue to address the use of “Backpage” throughout the Metro area. They urge individuals not to utilize the website due to the crimes associated with it.
Robberies and kidnappings have been associated with users and responders of the site.
