JPD investigating second homicide this week

Officers from the Jackson Police Department responded to a shooting call on Ludlow Avenue on Monday night.  Upon arrival, officers found a 57-year-old black male suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead the scene.

According to the JPD, a witness said that there was an altercation between the victim and an unidentified man who was hired to perform work on the house that the victim was moving into.

The suspect left but came back with a second black man. Shots were fired and the victim was struck at least once. Both suspects then fled in a tan pickup truck.

The victim was later identified as Edward Earl Fox.

The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to gather evidence in the city’s 59th homicide case of 2017.
