JSU Chair of Development Found Dead in his Home

MADISON, Miss.- A suspicious death is what police are calling it.

Dr. Garrick Shelton, Chair of Developmental Enhancement Studies at Jackson State University was found dead inside his home Wednesday afternoon.

A family member was checking on him because he didn’t show up for work.

Madison Chief Gene Waldrop told WLBT, it’s a bloody crime scene and for now it’s being called a suspicious death.

The victim’s black Chevy Malibu car is also missing with plates that read 2298AP

Anyone with information regarding this case or that has seen the car is asked to contact the Madison Police Department at 601-856-6111.
