Judge recuses himself from Hinds County DA case

JACKSON, Miss.- Another judge has recused himself from involvement from the case against Hinds County District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith.

Hinds County Court Judge William Skinner was the second judge in the process to recuse himself from the case. Preceding him nearly two weeks ago was Judge Melvin Priester Sr.

The recusal comes after Hinds County Circuit Judge Jeff Weill’s filled an order banning Smith from any participation in court cases on his agenda.

Smith continues to fight the charges against him alleging that he offered legal advice to criminals. His attorney has filed another motion to dismiss the charges.
