Justice for Jessica: No Arrest in Jessica Chambers Murder, Says Sheriff

COURTLAND, Miss.–There have been no arrests in the murder of Jessica Chambers. That message is from Panola County Sheriff Dennis Darby. He told Action News 5 in Memphis that rumors floating around about an arrest are not true.

The rumors started over the weekend. News Mississippi found two statements on the Justice for Jessica Facebook page:

“_____ ____ just arrested Iowa!!!!!”

“_____ _____ and _______ _____ arrested and in panola county custody!!!!!!”

Darby said that no arrests have been made in the murder investigation, even though it was unclear if the names mentioned may have been brought in on other charges, which may be unrelated to Chambers’ death.

Jessica Chambers was found dying four months ago near her car, near Courtland. She had been badly burned.

The reward for information leading to an arrest is over $50,000 now. If you know anything that could help, call Crimestoppers at 1-800-729-2169, or the Panola County sheriff’s office.
