Keeping Your Kids Safe, AG: Pervert Will Be 74 When He Gets Out

MONROE COUNTY, Miss.–It’s gonna be five years hard time for 69-year-old Roger Wiggington of Monroe County. When he gets out of prison for child pornography possession, he’ll be 74. He was sentenced to 40 years this week, with only five of those to serve and five more years on probation.

Atty. Gen. Jim Hood said Wiggington’s computer had thousands of images of kids engaged in sex acts. It was forensic examination by his office’s Cyber Crime Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that found the evidence.

The crimes will also cost Wiggington.  He also has to pay a $1,000 fine and $2,000 to the Mississippi Children’s Trust Fund and register as a sex offender upon his release, said Hood.

“We are always pleased to know that we have taken one more perverted mind off the streets,” said Hood.  “I hope others doing the same will quit and get some help before they meet the same fate.”
