LUCEDALE, MISS– Stephen Eugene Howell, wanted for kidnapping and rape in Lucedale, was found dead in a hotel room in Hattiesburg.
A woman who works at the Jr. Food Mart in Lucedale says Howell, her coworker, lured her behind the building after work. That’s when he beat her, tied her, threw her in his car, then took her to a hotel to rape her.
The woman was able to get away while Howell was sleeping, reports WLOX, but then Howell got away, too.
Moss Point police say this isn’t Howell’s first rodeo. He’s been charged with the same type of crime before.
U.S. Marshal’s found Howell’s body, reports WXXV News 25.
