A student has been arrested after posting on Instagram that he was going to shoot up Kosciusko Junior High School.

The post was made late Monday night, and Chief of Police Herbert Dew said that the juvenile was arrested on Tuesday. No weapons were found at the time of the arrest, and Chief Dew said that he doesn’t believe that the threat was credible.

The school was never placed on lockdown, but security was heightened on Tuesday after the threat was reported.

Because of the student’s age, his name is not being released.

After the arrest was made, he was transported to the Greenwood Juvenile Detention Center where he is awaiting his hearing in Youth Court.
