Lawsuit filed against Mississippi state flag

JACKSON, Miss.- A Grenada man, Carlos Moore has filed a lawsuit against the state flag saying it puts him and other African Americans in danger.

The Attorney General addressed the suit saying that he would continue to defend our state’s flag design even though he believes it hurts the state and should be changed.

Lawmakers had the opportunity to choose from several replacement solutions for the confederate markings on the current design. The choices ranged from a brand new redesign to replacing it with the state’s original flag, the Magnolia Flag.

The bill however died before even seeing the House floor.

Gov. Bryant said that the lawsuit is ‘frivolous’ and the that the flags design should be left up to voters.
