Leaving Kids in the Car: Parents Arrested For Leaving Kids in Hot Car During a Run Through the Casino

HARRISON COUNTY, MISS– James Terrell Dun and Monique Newton are in the Harrison County lockup on two counts of felony child abuse after leaving their kids in the car while gambling. 

A security guard at the Island View Casino says the two left their kids in the car, with no air running and the windows pulled up and covered so no one could see inside. Dunn and Newton are in the lockup, gonna costs 50 grand each to bail out.

The heat index was measured at 109 while the kids were in the car.

Before entering the casino, Dunn told the security guard he had covered the windows in order to protect his interior from the heat.
