Legislators honor Mississippi Nascar driver


Legislators honored Mississippi NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., in the Mississippi House Chamber with the presentation of House Resolution 43, on Wednesday, March 1.

The resolution commends and congratulates Stenhouse on his numerous racing achievements and successful career as a professional NASCAR driver.

Stenhouse, a native of Desoto County, claimed back-to-back NASCAR Xfinity Series Championships in 2011 and 2012. He was named 2010 Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year and 2013 Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year. Stenhouse currently competes full-time in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 17 Ford Fusion for Roush Fenway Racing.
