Little Sturgis Bike Rally


August 15-17

This weekend bikers fill the streets of Sturgis. If you love bikes, barbecue, and making friends you will not want to miss this event. This is the bike rally’s first year back after a three year hiatus.

Central Mississippi Fair


August 9-16

Saturday is the last day of the 105th Central Mississippi Fair. At the fair you can experience the On Edge 2-Wheel Action Show which was featured on America’s Got Talent.  There are also fair rides and entertainment on the midway. Saturday, there is a Hot Dog Eating Contest and Jello Eating Contest at 4pm and at 6pm it is the Attala’s Got Talent, talent show.

Jackson Rhythm and Blues Festival


August 15, 16

The Jackson Rhythm and Blues Festival is a two day event at the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum. Proceeds from the festival benefit the Mississippi Blues Commission’s Blues Musicians Benevolent Fund. Performers include Ziggy Marley, Fantasia, Bell Biv DeVoe and many others.

Bright Lights Belhaven Nights


August 16

Bright Lights Belhaven Nights celebrates its 10th anniversary this Saturday in the Jackson’s historical Belhaven neighborhood. The event is named as one of the top 20 events in the southeast this month by the Southeast Tourism Society. The festival includes five different music stages, art vendors, music, children’s activities, and food.
