UT Martin vs Ole Miss 11am
Ole Miss will host the UT Martin Skyhawks Saturday. The Rebels coming off a convincing 47-27 win against South Alabama last week, working with interim head coach Matt Luke and trying to gain some offensive legs. On defense, the Rebs have a lot of promise to work toward, especially as conference opponents loom just around the corner.
MSU vs LA Tech 6:30pm
Mississippi State takes to the road to face LA Tech Saturday night. A shutout win over Charleston Southern helped the MSU defense gel, but the fresh offensive line will need to tighten up in order to protect against a scrappy Tech defense that managed to boost up a 9-win season (including a bowl game victory over Navy).
Southern Univ vs USM 6pm
The Southern Miss Golden Eagles host Southern University after suffering a narrow loss to the Kentucky Wildcats. USM head coach Jay Hopson has named Kwadra Griggs the week 2 starter at QB, “earning his opportunity” as Hopson put it. Three studs who sat out for the UK game will hopefully return this week: defensive back Picasso Nelson Jr., running back Tez Parks and cornerback Trae Collins.
