A Gulfport man has been charged with knowingly spreading an STD.

On Sunday, the Gulfport PD arrested 29-year-old Tyrone Ross and charged him with one count of Knowingly Exposing Others to HIV.

Ross was arrested and charged after a victim filed a complaint from Memorial Hospital. According to a news release, the victim told police that he met Ross while the two were in prison, and the relationship became physical. The relationship, which began in 2015, carried on after their release from prison and recently ended.  Police say that the victim then learned that Ross may have had HIV.

After filing the complaint, the victim learned that Ross had been convicted on the same charge twice before.

Ross was located and arrested. After being processed, Ross was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, and his bond was set at $200,000.
