LAWRENCE COUNTY, Miss. — Do not take the castle doctrine lightly, especially if you plan on breaking into someone’s house. A man is now dead after he tried to break into a home in Lawrence County. Cops say David Maxwell woke up early Tuesday morning to his dog barking, found a strange man in his kitchen, and shot him dead.
Another man got away in truck. The guy that was killed was 30-year-old Matthew Javor. Maxwell not expected be facing any charges.
