MDOC Commissioner adds a new title

JACKSON- The Commissioner of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, Marshall Fisher, will be named as the Mississippi Department of Public Safety Commissioner by Gov. Phil Bryant on Monday.

Fisher has served as Commissioner of MDOC since 2014, after the scandal involving former commissioner Christopher Epps.

Prior to his time at MDOC Fisher had a nine year career with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. He will be officially announced in a Press Conference at the DPS headquarters in Jackson at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 30, 2017.
