Miss. News Briefs: It’s Guards v. Inmates and Why You Can’t Get That Free House Anymore

MERIDIAN, Miss.–It was guards versus inmates in yet another match up at East Miss. Correctional Facility. This time there was mace and prison knives involved and, you guessed it, people went to the hospital. Here are some Friday news briefs to get you started with your own house party:

GUARDS V INMATES
It was guards versus inmates, again, at East Mississippi Correctional Facility in Lauderdale County. This happened Thursday morning and three guards ended up getting stabbed with shanks by inmates. At first it was just one guard stabbed in the back. Then two other guards stepped up with pepper spray. They ended up getting stabbed by another inmate before the other guards finally got control. The injuries weren’t too serious, but they went to the hospital.

BUSINESSMAN DIES
It was severe diesel burns that killed a business owner in Meridian. WTOK reports Robert Glenn died Thursday and that was 12 days after the explosion at his business that put him in the hospital with third degree burns. He was mixing bio-diesel when the explosion happened.

KIDS CROSSING THE BORDER
Kids crossing the border, Mississippi did get 179 of those children since January, says a report from the feds. Compare that to Texas, with over 4,000.
