Mississippi Chef named Best Baker in America

Dwayne Ingraham recently took on a new title after winning the Food Network show “Best Baker in America.

Ingraham is the Director of Food and Beverage at the Graduate Hotel in Oxford. His Devil’s Explosion Cake is what solidified the title for him.

“When I competed it lasted for six weeks. Every week a different competitor went home until we were down to the final three. Then the final three competed for the prize,” said Ingraham.

Other contestants that Ingraham was up against included Adalberto Diaz Labrada from Salt Lake City, Andy Chelebana a Joliet Junior College Chef who won the 2015 “Spring Baking Championsip.”

Ingraham said he grew up in a family who loved to bake. His mother and grandmother instilled a love for it in him ever since he was young.

Along with his title Ingraham also walked away with a check for $25,000.
