Mississippi officials comment on Trump’s selection of Pence

JACKSON, Miss.- Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has selected Mike Pence the Governor of Indiana as his running mate.

Mississippi officials have commented on the selection through various releases from each office.

Senator Roger Wicker:

“Gov. Pence and I served together for seven years in the House of Representatives. He is a natural leader who rose to leadership quickly in the House. No one can question his conservative bona fides. He is an optimistic, cheerful, and pragmatic leader from America’s heartland. It’s hard not to like Mike Pence. He could absolutely step into the presidency if needed.”

Governor Phil Bryant:

“I am delighted with Donald Trump’s selection of Governor Mike Pence as his Vice President. Mike was a strong conservative leader in Congress and has been one of the nation’s leading Republican Governors. I have known and worked with Mike as a fellow Governor and am certain he will help Donald Trump make America Great again.”

Mississippi GOP Chairman Joe Nosef:

“Governor Mike Pence will make an excellent running mate for Donald Trump. But more importantly, his experience as a Member of Congress and a Governor, together with his undeniable conservative credentials will make him a great Vice President of the United States.”
