Mississippi State Baseball Going to College World Series

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va–Mississippi State captured their ticket to Omaha and the College World Series Monday afternoon against Virginia.

Game two, that finished up on Monday, had been postponed due to heavy rain Sunday evening during the 7th inning.

Mississippi State had to close out the last two innings with a 5-3 lead and made things interesting at the end.

The Bulldogs were able to hold on 6-5 as they pushed across a run in the bottom of the 7th and the Cavaliers plated two runs in the 9th inning.

This is the first appearance in Omaha for Coach John Cohen as Mississippi State’s coach and the team’s first appearance since 2007.
