Mississippi waiter fired after customers said he lied about cancer to get tips

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – An Olive Garden employee has been fired after customers complained that he asked for additional tips, in order to help fund his cancer treatment.

According to local media, Jason Kisner had only been with the company for three months and did not have cancer.

One woman reportedly left a $125 dollar tip and wrote a social media post about the encounter, which brought others forward, saying they had been served by the same man.

A few customers weren’t falling for Kisner’s ruse and contacted Olive Garden’s corporate office complaining about the man.

Olive Garden issued a statement saying that “We are working to contact the guests and we will reimburse them for the $125 dollars they gave the server.”

The restaurant has also contacted one of the families who complained and has fully refunded their meal.
