Mississippi Weekend: arts festivals, half marathons, and historical recreations

Down on the coast is the annual Peter Anderson Arts and Crafts Festival. It was founded in 1928 and has been a major celebration to the arts community ever since. The festival is known for economic development and boosting Ocean Springs arts community. It’s happening all weekend so don’t miss out on the 39th year

The Delta the Yazoo Delta Half Marathon and 5k is a fundraiser for the Preservation Yazoo Foundation. It’s a non-profit that works to preserve the history of Yazoo. The half marathan will offer a tour of the historic sites in the city including the Witch’s Grave made famous in the writings of Willie morris. If you’re not running thats okay come enjoy some great food, live music, and cold drinks.

The Soule Steam Feed Works Festival is being held this weekend in Meridian. It’s the 15th year they’ve been showing modern day folks what life was really like back in the early 20th century.
