Mississippi YouTuber reported possible comment from Florida shooter

Nikolas Cruz has been identified as the shooter from yesterday’s attack on a Florida High School that left 17 people dead, and one Mississippi man says that the name sounded all too familiar.

A comment left on one of BenTheBondsman’s videos read “I’m going to be a professional school shooter.” And it was left by someone with the username “nikolas cruz”.

Ben released a video detailing how he attempted to alert the proper authorities in the wake of the comment which was left on his video back in September 2017. Ben Bennight is the man’s full name and he works as a bondsman in D’Iberville. Bennight flagged the comment, reported it to the local field office of the FBI, and was eventually visited by agents inquiring about the comment.

The video can be seen below:

During a news conference, FBI special agent in charge of the Miami division, Robert Lasky said that they were unable to confirm the origin of the comment.

“No other information was included with that comment which would indicate a time, location or the true identity of the person who made the comment,” Lasky said during a news conference. “The FBI conducted database reviews, checks but was unable to further identify the person who actually made the comment.”

Cruz is currently in police custody.
