Move It, Own It; Church Gives House Away

PASCAGOULA, Miss. — If you are looking for a house, a Jackson County church has one you can have almost for free.

The Oasis Church remodeled the three bedroom house about 2-years ago and it’s appraised at $120,000.  But here’s what’s in the fine print: if you want the house, you have to move it.  The church wants to keep the land for a bigger parking lot.

The 1800 square foot house was built in the 1970s.  It has two full baths and a bonus room.  Oasis employees have been living in it, but the house has been vacant for the last three months.

The first person or group that provides a signed contract with a licensed house mover will get the deed.  If no one takes the freebie, it will be demolished.

The church posted the house giveaway on Facebook, Twitter, and Craigslist this week.  Anyone interested should call Oasis Church at 228-762-5639.
