PORT GIBSON, Miss. – There’s been a murder and police shooting in Port Gibson today.
The ex-band director for Port Gibson High School was shot and killed at his home around 4 a.m. Police think Bobby Thomas pulled the trigger. In a confrontation with law officers, Thomas was also shot. He is in a hospital and expected to be okay.
Port Gibson police, Claiborne County deputies and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are all working the case.
