Medical Treatment for MS Speaker Pro-Tempore

JACKSON, Miss. — State Senator Terry Brown (R-Columbus) is in the hospital.  Lt. Governor Tate Reeves said today that Brown was recently diagnosed with an illness and is being treated for it.

“I spent Monday night with Sen. Brown in Columbus at the annual Brunswick Stew Cookout at the Magowah Hunt Club. He has been diagnosed with an illness in the last few days, and he and his doctors have developed an aggressive treatment plan that has already begun,” said Reeves in a written statement.

Brown, who’s 63, is Senate Pro-Tempore and chairman of the Senate rules committee.  He has represented District 17 in Lowndes County since 2004.
