La’Bryant Finnie, 16-years old, has been arrested in Lee County for possession of a firearm on school property.

Nettleton High school was placed on lockdown for an hour and a half this week when officials received a report of a person of interest that possibly possessed a firearm.

A deputy discovered a backpack with a loaded handgun in it and it was later discovered that the owner of the backpack left the school campus without permission.

Finnie was charged with Possession of a Firearm on School Property and his Bond has been set at $250,000.

The Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Department has also placed a hold on Finnie for 2 counts of Sexual Battery.

The two cases are unrelated.
