Officers Deen and Tate to be Buried This Week

HATTIESBURG, Miss.–Hattiesburg Police officers Benjamin Deen, 34, and Liquori Tate, 25, will be buried Thursday and Saturday, respectively, after separate services, which were announced Monday.

Deen, a five-year veteran of the department and K-9 officer, will be buried Thursday after an 11 a.m. funeral at the West Temple Baptists Church in Sumrall. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at West Temple.

Visitation for Tate will be Friday at West Point Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, from 5 to 8 p.m. Services are Saturday at 11 at the church.

Preliminary autopsy results were released late Monday that showed one officer was shot in the face and the other in the back.
