The Ole Miss Rebels are rumbling through their NCAA regional tourney this weekend. Record crowds have witnessed 2 wins so far: a mercy-rule thumping of Southern Illinois Friday night, and a tight 2-0 win over Arizona State on Saturday.

The Rebels are the only team remaining in the Oxford regional without a loss in the tournament.

Today Ole Miss takes on North Carolina today, in what’s expected to be a thriller of a game.

NO MERCY.

In a mercy-rule-victory, Ole Miss softball rolled over Southern Illinois Friday night in Oxford. 8-0 was the score at the end of the second game of the NCAA regional tourney.

Ole Miss softball has been on a steady incline for the past 3 years since head coach Mike Smith came on board. In that time, he’s brought the program back from the brink of uncertainty.

A record crowd was in attendance Friday night: 1,677 caught the Rebels’ NCAA regional host debut.

That record is expected to be broken again today as Ole Miss takes on Arizona State in the winner’s bracket at 1:30.
