JACKSON, MISS– Rankin county deputies have James Banks in custody after he and Michael Rotunno, both of Florida, escaped from a prisoner transport there.
Yesterday, schools were on lockdown and police officers were seen scouring the woods and roadways in search of the two men.
An unexpected break came in from a cab driver who had his suspicions about a call. A man had contacted the driver, asking for a pick up on the side of the road in Pelahatchie.
Rankin county deputies walked the driver through the process of picking Banks up. After he caught the ride, police pulled the vehicle over and arrested him without a problem.
