One dead, seven injured in Hazelhurst nightclub shooting

One person is dead and seven more people were shot on early Sunday morning during a mass shooting in Hazelhurst.

Hazelhurst Police Chief Byron Swilley said that 23-year-old Dariendejuan Fells and 21-year-old Odarius Black have been charged with the murder of 26-year-old Johnathan Miller who was shot and killed at a bar and nightclub called Tootsie’s Spot. Fells and Black are also charged with aggravated assault for shooting seven additional people

The shooting took place just after two a.m. on Sunday. Six people were released from the hospital and Swilley said one is in stable condition at UMMC

Both Fells and Black are still at large and are believed to be living in the Brookhaven/Lincoln County area. Swilley added that they have reached out to the U.S. Marshall’s office and they will be helping with finding Fells and Black.
