Pastor Goes to Jail

A pastor from Rankin County faced jail time this past weekend for identity theft. Leonard Boddie was arrested Friday and released Monday after a judge set bond at $25,000.

Boddie has been suspended from his church, Greater New Friendship Baptist Church in Brandon.

Jackson police stated that Boddie is accused of taking a woman’s personal information from her taxes he prepared to purchase two BMWs and then continue to make the payments on the cars with her account. Once payments stopped coming, the dealership contacted the woman who had no idea what they were talking about. She took it up with the police which led them to Boddie.
