Pearl River County inmate still on the run

PEARL RIVER COUNTY, MISS– An escaped Pearl River County inmate is still on the run and the search is spanning across the state.

Roger Aaron Dollar, 24, escaped sometime Saturday from the jail after stealing a work truck, according to WLOX.

The stolen truck was found by Jackson Police on Monday.

Dollar has family in Carthage, and in Rankin and Simpson counties. Authorities believe he could still be in the area.

Dollar was being held in Pearl River County for an alcohol and drug program. His initial charge was in Rankin county and was for felony eluding, Pearl River County Chief Deputy Shane Tucker told News Mississippi.

Chief Deputy Tucker told News Mississippi that they’ve found some irony in this situation.

“On his Facebook page,” said Tucker. “It says ‘nothing runs like a felon.”

Here’s the photo to which the Sheriff was referring:

If Dollar is spotted, call local law enforcement or Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department at 601-795-2241.
