Pedestrian identified in George County death

The George County Sheriff’s Office has identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car early Tuesday morning.

Police say that 25-year-old Justin Hennis was walking along Old Mobile Highway in the Rocky Creek Community when he was hit by a car. Officers and an ambulance responded to the scene after the received a call around 4:00 a.m. yesterday morning. 

When first responders arrived, Hennis was still alive, and he was airlifted to the hospital where he would later pass away. 

No suspect information related to the case has been released, but the investigation is ongoing.
