HATTIESBURG, Miss. — The fight for the mayor’s office in Hattiesburg has moved to circuit court.
Dave Ware lost the election to incumbent mayor Johnny Dupree. But he is now asking the courts to throw out those results and name him the mayor. Ware says in his petition that there were widespread voter irregularities. Among other claims, he says his campaign workers were harassed at the polls and Dupree’s wife even notarized some absentee ballots.
