Officials in Lowndes County are investigating a triple homicide.

Lowndes County Deputies responded to 23 Mobile Drive in Artesia yesterday afternoon in response to a shooting. When they arrived at the home, they found three victims dead from gunshot wounds; two were in the home and the third victim was found outside near the back door.

The victims have now been identified, and their names can be seen below:

  • Demario Anquan Snell, 31, of Artesia
  • Mauricio Lamarcus Nance, 22, of Columbus
  • Tyshun Bernard Fields, 24, of Crawford

According to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, no motive is known at this time, but it is believed that the person who committed the crime knew the victims.

While no suspect information is available, officials have reportedly questioned a person of interest in the case.

While the investigation is in its early stages, the LCSO is asking for the public’s help.

“Three young men had their life taken and we are asking for the communities help in this case.  We believe there are witnesses who can give beneficial information in this case and we need them to come forward.”

If anyone has any information in this case, they are asked to contact the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office at (662) 328-6788 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.

The MBI will assist with the investigation, and the victim’s bodies have been sent to the state crime lab.
