Possible thunderstorms, heat index breaks 100 – 7-30-18

Here’s a quick rundown of the weather today across the Magnolia state.

In north Mississippi, expect mostly sunny skies until late afternoon, then becoming mostly cloudy. There will also be some patchy dense fog in the morning along with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day. Highs will near 90 and the highest heat index readings will be around 101. At night, mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening and continuing after midnight. Lows will drop down into the lower 70s.

In central Mississippi, mostly sunny skies today with some patchy dense fog in the morning and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms that will continue into the afternoon. Highs will climb into the lower 90s and “feels like” temperatures will range from 100 to 103. In the evening, expect mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening and after midnight. Lows will be in the lower 70s.

In south Mississippi, mostly sunny with patchy fog in the morning along with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day. Highs will be in the lower 90s and heat index readings will climb up to 105. Tonight, mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms that will continue after midnight. Lows will dip down into the mid-70s.
