JACKSON, Miss– The United States Postal Service has announced the office hours for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Most post offices in Mississippi will close early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, but the delivery won’t be affected.
“The deliveries will run as scheduled,” says Doug Kyle, spokesperson for the U.S. Postal Service in Mississippi.
The post offices are scheduled to close the lobby at noon on Christmas Eve, but the hours can vary depending on the office.
“The notices will be posted in the lobbies of each office stating when they’ll close up,” says Kyle.
As far as the collection boxes outside go, you’ll wanted to get that taken care of early as well.
“Delivery goes as scheduled, but the blue collection boxes will be picked up earlier,” says Kyle. If you’ll be using the collection box, that will need to be dropped in by noon on Christmas Eve.
Delivery and office hours will continue as normal December 26th.
