Prayers for Peyton: Lincoln Co. Football Player Still Critical After Friday Injury

LINCOLN COUNTY, Miss.–An injury Friday night during a high school football game has left Peyton Flowers critical, with swelling on the brain and emergency surgery over the weekend. Today, the community is praying for his recovery.

Flowers, a player for Loyd Star, After his injury he was taken to UMMC and was eventually placed in a medically-induced coma, according to his family.

Shortly thereafter, the Facebook page “Prayers for Peyton Flowers” was started and now has over 5,000 like, with postings of prayers and encouragement from all over Mississippi.

The latest update was from Flowers’ father:

This is David,Peyton’s dad. Thank you for all your love and support for Peyton and our family. Please continue to lift Peyton and all our family up in prayer as he continues this fight. Everyone that knows Peyton knows he’s a fighter. Quitting is never an option.
