President Trump will head to Mississippi for a “Make America Great Again” rally after all.

President Trump will hold the rally in Southaven on October 2nd after he was originally going to appear in Jackson earlier this month. The rally was canceled due to Hurricane Florence, but with the midterm elections approaching, Trump decided to reschedule.

President Trump recently endorsed Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith in her bid to finish the remainder of Thad Cochran’s term following Governor Bryant’s appointment. Hyde-Smith stated that she is honored to have the President in Mississippi on her behalf.

“I am honored that the President was able to reschedule his visit to Mississippi to show his support for our state and to campaign on my behalf,” Sen. Hyde-Smith said. “It has been a privilege to back his ‘America First’ agenda, and I look forward to welcoming him to DeSoto County.”

The rally will take place at the Landers Center, and Governor Bryant said he looks forward to standing with both the President and Senator Hyde-Smith.

Trump has also endorsed Senator Roger Wicker as he fights to keep his U.S. Senate seat. Wicker will face state Rep. David Baria (D) on the ballot.

Hyde-Smith faces several opponents in her race including state Senator Chris McDaniel (R), former congressman Mike Espy (D) and Navy veteran Tobey Bartee (D).
