Rain likely with highs in the 90s – 8-8-18

Here’s a quick rundown of the weather today across the Magnolia state.

In north Mississippi, expect partly sunny skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Highs will climb into the lower 90s and the highest heat index readings will be anywhere from 100 to 103. In the evening, mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the night that will likely continue after midnight. Lows will be in the lower 70s.

In central Mississippi, mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 90s and heat index readings will range from 100 to 103. Tonight, partly cloudy with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening and continuing after midnight. Lows will dip down into the lower to mid-70s.

In south Mississippi, mostly sunny again today with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Highs in the lower 90s and “feels like” temperatures will climb up anywhere from 100 to 104. At night, partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during the night along with some patchy fog after midnight. Lows will drop down into the mid-70s.
