Ribbon Cutting Shows Progress Made Since Hurricane Katrina

LONG BEACH, Miss.  — It’s been eight years now since Hurricane Katrina and progress still being made along the Mississippi Coast.

Elizabeth Hall officially reopened today on the University of Southern Miss Gulf Park campus.  “After the storm we were scattered out and working in different places.  So for the first time, we are all back on one campus,” said Dr. Frances Lucas, executive officer of the Gulf Park campus.

Elizabeth Hall houses the College of Arts and Letters.  A ribbon cutting was held Wednesday.  With the rebuilding process now over, Lucas says they will now turn their attention to landscaping the campus.
