Portions of southeast Mississippi are experiencing severe weather, and the National Weather Service has issued multiple warnings.

Along with severe thunderstorm warnings, flash flood warnings have been issued in the following areas:

Laurel, Ellisville, Sandersville, Mill Creek, Tuckers Crossing, Eastabuchie, Moselle, Ovett, Moss and Soso.

Several inches of rain have already fallen in the area, and the NWS warns that flash flooding will occur. If you’re on the roads and come up on flooded roads, do not try to drive through them. According to the NWS, most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
